According to a Bloomberg report, Nintendo is said to be in the process of ramping up production of the Switch. At the end of 2022, the delivery volumes targeted for the next fiscal year had been reduced to 19 million units, but now believe that more can be delivered and that demand will be high.
Kickstarting production this late in a console’s lifecycle, with the Nintendo Switch launching back in 2017, is rather unusual. Analysts continue to expect demand to fall. The further course of the year will have to show us who is right in the end. Nintendo repeatedly took the view that sales figures had never been slowed down by falling demand, but always by supply bottlenecks.
However, “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” is supposed to be released in 2023, which would certainly give the console another push. Incidentally, Sony, for example, is also expecting to sell many consoles this year: Because the delivery situation is also improving with regard to the PlayStation 5. The Microsoft Xbox Series X|S are also very readily available.
