There is little more than a month left for the arrival of Octopath Traveler II to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series, and the promotional machine is still running at full capacity. While Square Enix is already putting the title’s soundtrack up for pre-sale, letting us hear the first brushstrokes of several of its compositions, the trailers continue to show us a little more about the new protagonists who will embark on the Solistia adventure. The images continue to build little by little what will be the title that will come into our hands next February 24thand today is the turn of two new protagonists.
Octopath Traveler II features Ochette and Castti
Those who played the first installment of Square Enix’s HD-2D will already know some of the features shown in the new Octopath Traveler II trailer: Ochette the Huntresshe will have the ability to capture monsters and turn them into his allies for combat, while Castti, the apothecary, you will be able to make various potions and concoctions, as well as being very useful in the social aspect of exploration, questioning the locals of the different enclaves to obtain information. The novelty of each class, the latent powerconsists of Animal Instinct in the case of Ochette (unlocking special abilities by releasing his inner beast) and Every Drop Counts in the case of Castti (brewing potions without spending material).
But the new trailer does not only talk about the two of them, but also reveals small details of the progression of the story. In Octopath Traveler II, each character’s story will progress depending on the path we decide to take. In some cases, you have to choose between different options, prioritizing the one that interests us the most, with which the story will advance in a different way. This, added to the side stories that we will find in the world of Solistia, promises to offer us a story quite rich in variants and details.
What do you think of these characters? What do you expect from those story ramifications? There’s less to go for Octopath Traveler II, and we’re looking forward to the time we get to the controls.
