A few months ago, Sony announced that it was going to launch a loyalty program for PlayStation. Known as PlayStation Stars, the idea behind the initiative would be to provide gamers with ways to earn digital collectibles and points (a bit in the style of Xbox rewards), all simply by counting the time we spend playing games. Following the announcement, Sony wants to release PlayStation Stars worldwide.
And in some places this has already happened, as PlayStation Stars has already reached the Asian region (including Japan), as discussed in a recent post on the official PlayStation blog. The rest of the world will have to wait a little longer, as both North and South America will receive the feature on October 5, and in Europe, Australia and New Zealand we will have access to the initiative. on October 13.
Although access to PlayStation Stars will be free for all iOS and Android devices, or through the PlayStation website, you will need to have a PlayStation Network account to enjoy its benefits.
As for the types of rewards we will have, there will be figurines and other digital collectibles that will commemorate the achievements achieved. Very important: they will not be exchangeable, nor redeemable, nor can they be put up for saleso don’t expect this to be some kind of NFT platform.
