Amazon has announced which games will be available with Prime Gaming in March. Among them is an RPG that was first released in 1998 and is one of the best in the genre. If you use Amazon Prime, you can keep the game permanently.
What kind of game is this? Baldur’s Gate is based on the famous pen and paper rule book Dungeons & Dragons. You create a character there, choosing from the various classes and races of D&D and distributing skill and attribute points.
In the adventure you start as an orphan and look for your father’s murderer. The game consists of 7 chapters and the prologue. You complete tasks, become stronger and can recruit and get to know companions.
Baldur’s Gate is a so-called “tactical role-playing game” that you play from an isometric perspective and with turn-based combat. It is among the best role-playing games on Steam and is considered one of the best RPGs of all time.
With Baldur’s Gate 3, the latest part of the series will be released in 2023. We have included the trailer for the original game for you here:
How to get Baldur’s Gate? As Amazon has announced in a new video, the Enhanced Edition of Baldur’s Gate will be available as part of Prime Gaming starting March 2nd.
If you have subscribed to Amazon Prime, you can claim your rewards and add Baldur’s Gate to your account via the official Prime Gaming site or on Twitch. You only have a short time to activate, but the game is then permanently available to you.
More games with Prime Gaming
Along with Baldur’s Gate, Amazon has announced additional games that will also be available in March with Prime Gaming:
- Adios and I Am Fish starting March 9th
- Faraway 3: Arctic Escape out March 16th
- Book of Demons and Peaky Blinders: Mastermind out March 23
- City Legends: Trapping in Mirror – Collector’s Edition out March 30th
Incidentally, Prime Gaming and Twitch Prime are one of the reasons for the immense success of the platform:
Even if Baldur’s Gate is a bit old, it is the highlight of the games presented. The RPG has a rating of 95% on Steam. Due to the game principle and the isometric camera, the outdated graphics are not that important, since role-playing games focus more on the story anyway.
If you are still looking for something more modern, there is currently another role-playing game on offer. Divinity: Original Sin 2 even offers a co-op feature and is currently discounted:
Co-op RPG for up to 4 players is currently available for €18 on Steam, but only for a short time – ranks among the best role-playing games of all time
