Among other things, Sanji is known for wearing jewelry in One Piece and he does it in the Netflix series as well.
Netflix is releasing the long-awaited and skeptical live-action adaptation of One Piece later this month. In addition, of course, the advertising drum is vigorously beaten and in addition to trailers and all kinds of interviews, there are also posters.
Resourceful fans have now discovered a very special detail on one of them, which is really well received. Apparently, the makers of the film go to work with a keen sense for the little things and attention to detail.

That’s what it’s about: The Netflix film adaptation of One Piece starts at the end of the month and you can then watch the entire first season at once. Among other things, a poster has now been released that shows Sanji. The cook of the Straw Hat Pirates wears a very special ring on it.

What is that ring? This ring is a stylized skull and crossbones flag (aka Jolly Roger in English). However, the skull has been replaced with a chicken head wearing a chef’s hat, and instead of two crossbones we see a knife and fork. Of course, this sounds familiar to long-established One Piece fans.

Jeff’s pirate flag on his finger: Sanji obviously bears the mark of his (foster) father Jeff, with whom he has a close relationship and from whom he has learned a lot.
In One Piece, not only is Jeff (Zeff in English) responsible for rescuing young Sanji, the two also ran the infamous Baratie floating restaurant together. You can see what it looks like in the series here:

Emotional reaction from the fans: So Sanji shows his affection for his father figure Jeff through this small detail, which is very well received by the fans. Although the two characters often fight in manga and anime, the love between them obviously runs very deep.
The fact that this detail now even returns with this ring on a poster for the Netflix film adaptation gives hope for even more attention to detail.
It won’t be long now: Am August 31st One Piece Season 1 starts on Netflix and all episodes will be available at once.
