Luffy shows what he’s made of.
The Wano Kuni Arc from one piece is slowly approaching the finale. Luffy competes against one of the four Pirate Emperors and does his best. But his best isn’t good enough, so he must push himself beyond his limits and in the process reach a new Gear Tier: Gear 5.
In the current episode 1069, Luffy hasn’t quite managed to reach this level yet. However, observant fans have noticed that the new stage can be seen in a special animated form for a split second.
One Piece: Luffy’s Gear 5 as a cool animation
What does Gear 5 look like? As Luffy charges up his King Kong Gun attack and charges at Kaido, his four gear levels can be seen as extra-colored stills for a split second. The Gear 5 image shows Luffy draped in yellow flames, raising his fist with a black silhouette and prominent eyebrows.
Luffy looks a little skeletal in the picture with his wide open mouth, square cheekbones and hollowed eyes. Twitter account newworldartur captured for us the stills that are barely seen during the episode:

If you didn’t notice the pictures, fast forward to around the 21:15 mark. There you really have to alternately click pause and start very quickly to see the stills. We only managed to see Luffy’s first and last gear forms on the first try.
Will Luffy’s Gear 5 look like this? The picture is just a particularly nice animation. We’ve already seen what Luffy’s Gear 5 looks like in color in a first drawing and in the One Piece Film Red movie.

We already know that about Gear 5
With Gear 5, Luffy’s true *text muted* fruit finally awakens. It is not the gum-gum fruit, but the human-human fruit, model: Nika. Luffy transforms into an incarnation of the sun god Nika, overcoming the physics of his world.
Luffy can suddenly change his body size, transfer his rubber power to his surroundings and much more. So we can’t wait to see how the Toei Animation team will implement Luffy’s *text muted* powers in the anime.
