Option to activate ray tracing disappears from some Capcom games without notice
Some fans are reporting that ray tracing options, and in some cases HDR, have been removed from new versions of Resident Evil 2 and 3 on Steam.
In a thread on the Resident Evil 3 Steam page, user DendeThe1st claimed that after an update to the game, the graphical option to enable ray tracing was removed.
Shortly after this, several other players came forward to confirm these reports, with user simone_the_one saying that the issue was affecting the Resident Evil 2 remake as well.
While not that common, some other players have reported that HDR in both games is also not working properly in some cases after the update.
As of this writing, there seems to be no way to roll back to a previous version of the game and Capcom has yet to acknowledge the issue.
The PC versions of Capcom’s acclaimed remakes have faced issues in the past, as the developer had to allow players to roll back an update to the PC version that brought them in line with the PS5 and Xbox Series console updates. .
