Paradox Interactive Reveals The Sims Competition Called Life by You
Paradox Interactive has unveiled its game called Life by You, a new open-world life sim that will launch in early access on PC on September 12.
Developed by Paradox Tectonic, the studio run by Rod Humble, former Sims boss and CEO of Second Life studio Linden Labs, Life by You’s marketing immediately throws shade in the direction of The Sims 4, portraying the title as a game that It will allow players to “create humans and live their lives without loading screens.”
While the fundamentals, from building houses to creating characters, seem very similar to the Sims, Paradox heralds a “open game world where everything is customizable”, With “real language conversations” and the ability for players to directly control their digital humans if they’d prefer something more practical than the default third-person view.
Additionally, players can explore the open world, heading to the countryside by car or bike, and there’s talk of career ladders, customizable businesses, mod support, and more.
Life by You launches in early access for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store on September 12.
