Pennyworth: the series about the youth of Batman’s butler has been canceled on HBO

Pennyworth: The Origins of Batman’s Butler has been canceled by HBO after three seasons.

The series followed the life of Alfred Pennyworth before he slipped into the role of butler to the Wayne family and, eventually, Batman. For some, it was an underappreciated success, while others considered it a trite origin story and forgot it existed.

Pennyworth is the latest victim of the big changes happening in DC right now. With James Gunn having laid out his master plan As to how it’s going to run the universe, a lot of previous shows and movies are being cancelled, as they don’t quite fit with the current vision for the future at DC Studios.
