Phantom Fury surprises with realistic water physics

Phantom Fury is a curious video game of frenetic action in the first person. It is developed by the Slipgate Ironworks studio and edited by 3D Realms. We have known about it since September of last year, when those responsible announced it for a premiere sometime in 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Switch. Since then, small development progress has been published on social networks, and the last video has surprised us by showing some realistic water physics.

The game is not that it has a photorealistic graphic style, but that does not prevent its creators from taking seriously the liquid simulation. The last video of the official account of the person in charge of Phantom Fury On twitter it shows us How does the water in some fish tanks react when we shoot at the glass?: the level does not only go down to the hole, as it already happened in the first Splinter Cellbut also does faster if we fire multiple bullets into the glass. Of course, if we go too far we can blow up the fish tank. You can watch the video below:

This detail of Phantom Fury makes it clear that the game seeks to merge the frantic action of the shooter in the first person of the nineties, games in which he is clearly inspired, with the reactivity of the scenarios own of the immersive sim. In this title, which is a sequel to the highly valued Ion Fury, we will once again control Shelly ‘Bombshell’ Harrison on a mission to save the future of humanity. The protagonist returns with a new robotic arm and over 20 weapons (revolver, shotgun, drones and many tools) to deal with the villains throughout the United States.
