Cyberpunk 2077 fans are counting down the hours until Summer Game Festa conference in which they most likely have more information on the first and only expansion of the game: Phantom Liberty. Promising many, many hours of content, CD Projekt also said that this expansion will be more expensive than usual. Now, thanks to a leak, we already know its priceAnd they weren’t exaggerating.

Posted on the Cyberpunk subreddit, user u/thebuffel was browsing the GOG Store, CDPR’s digital storefront for DRM-free retro games, when he stumbled upon something he wasn’t supposed to see: a price leak for Phantom Liberty. It seems that the reserves for this expansion they were open ahead of time for a brief period of time, long enough for the news to spread like wildfire.

With a price on the European market of €29.99 (34.99 dollars in the United States), we see a considerable price increase if we compare it with the two DLCs of The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone (launch RRP €9.99) and Blood & Wine (launch RRP €19.99).

Little is known about the content of this new part of Night City’s history. We know there will be a new main character, Reed, that is played by Idris Elba, and that we will visit a new district of this dangerous city: Godtown. Will this price increase have a direct relationship to the amount of content that will be added to the game? If so, surely we are before a massive new plot.

Hopefully, coming out this year, we’ll not only get a new trailer tonight during Summer Game Fest, but also a release date for the expansion. Many rumors point to the month of August, but none of that has been confirmed. Hopefully, in a few hours we will leave doubts.

CD Projekt denies that it will be bought

In the times we are in, it seems that no video game studio, no matter how big, is safe from being acquired by one of the leaders in the sector. There was a lot of talk about CDPR being next, falling into the hands of Sonybut the Polish company has resoundingly dispelled these rumors: CD Projekt is not for sale.
