Although there is not a single mod to be able to create this effect and literally change the perspective of the title, it is the combination of three elements that makes Baldur’s Gate 3 suddenly become a completely different title. With these three elements in place, follow the instructions below to turn your RPG into something else entirely:
- Download Native Mod Loader and open it. unzip bink2w64.dll and bink2w64_original.dll in your game’s “bin” folder—it’s inside the Baldur’s Gate 3 directory.
- Download Native Camera Tweaks and put all the mod files in the directory Baldur’s Gate 3/bin/NativeMods (creates the folder if it doesn’t exist).
- Download WASD Character Movement and extract inputconfig_p1.json in C:\Users\(Your username)\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\. To get to this folder, you can press Windows + R and put “%localappdata%\Larian Studios\Baldur’s Gate 3\PlayerProfiles\Public\”.
- unzip BG3WASD.dll In the address book Baldur’s Gate 3/bin/NativeMods.
- As an optional step, install AutoHotKey 1.1bind the camera movement to the arrow keys on your keyboard (not the WASD) and run the file WASD_Toggle.ahk every time you play —use admin mode.
