In Pokemon GO you can currently do the limited research Old friends, new beginnings
conclude. This brings you bonuses for the Kanto starters.
What is this research? Just before the new season “Hidden Gems” in Pokemon GO is due, the research “Old Friends, New Beginnings” landed in the game. It revolves around the Kanto starters Bulbasaur, Squirtle and Charmander.
Through them you can get encounters with the three monsters and get energy for their mega developments. However, you only have a limited amount of time.
How long is the research? The time-limited research started on May 30th, 2023 and will run until Wednesday June 28th. As of now, it is only available in Europe.
You have almost a month to complete them. But you should be able to do this easily, because there are only two research pages that you should solve. We show you the tasks and the rewards for them here.
Old Friends, New Beginnings 1/2 – Quests and Rewards

Is the task worth it? All in all, the research on “Old Friends, New Beginnings” is done quickly and should also be manageable when playing “on the side”. Especially since you have almost a month to spare.
If you are new to the game, the research is of course particularly worthwhile, because this way you can get to the popular Kanto starters faster and get further in the direction of their developments.
Especially the mega energies could be a nice bonus for players who don’t want to wait for the cooldown timer of their mega developments. For the first mega development of the monsters, however, you need 200 mega energies.
