What is this event? Raid hours in Pokemon GO usually run on Wednesday evenings. But this Thursday there is an additional date.

If you’re up for some more proto-raids, take an hour off tonight.

Additional Raid Hour on August 24th – With Which Boss?

When is the raid lesson today? The event starts at the usual time at 6:00 p.m. As usual, it is active for one hour and ends again at 19:00.

Which boss is there? You will encounter Primal Groudon in the event raids starting today. The Pokemon belongs to the Ground and Fire types and is weak to Water and Ground for the reasons.

Pokemon like Mega Sumpex and Primal Kyogre are some of the strongest attackers you can use in these raids. We wrote a counter guide for you, where you can see the 20 best Pokemon to use on this boss.

With a bit of luck you can even find a Shiny after the raid and then have Shiny Proto-Groudon. A real eye-catcher in your collection.
