Project Mugen presents its first trailer and wants to compete against Genshin Impact mixing sci-fi with Spider-Man | Top News
Recently, I told you about a rather unique new game called Project Mugen. Back then we knew almost nothing about him, but things have changed. Through a relatively expected announcement and after an official countdown, its creators have revealed the first official trailer of the game. Thanks to this —now yes— we have been able to know what things are about.
Right off the bat, what the video shows us is a title designed around a big city that we can explore at will. The most curious thing of all is that, beyond its anime aesthetic, it seems to have taken a bit from here and there. While the layout of the streets reminds us of GTA, displacement through buildings is made in Spider-Man. That among other things.
Project Mugen, a hodgepodge of ideas that we don’t know if it will work
For a start, we will have a series of hooks that will allow us to swing between the buildings. In the same way, we can run through its walls like Spider-Man himself would. The thing does not stop there, because there will also be motorcycles, cars and other transportation systems with cuttings of science fiction in a world that does not claim to be purely technological, but that does have some reminiscences. sci fi about.
Thus, it seems that one of the great premises of the game will be to enjoy all the activities that it offers us, from concerts of idols to fireworks shows. All this while we use a series of strange powers to face a threat that we do not know if it is closer to Kingdom Hearts or the kaiju from Japanese folklore.
And there is more. Aside from some characters using submachine guns, others will use motorcycles to fight. Yes, motorcycles. And swords and other rather unique weapons well combined with what appear to be elemental and/or psychic powers. Come on, take a bit from here and a bit from there to build a fantasy and science fiction adventure with anime aesthetics that can be either very original or very generic. We will have to wait to find out, but everything indicates that it will be very Genshin Impact-like by offering different predefined characters.
