Ratchet and Clank Rift is the next big Playstation game to arrive on PC and necessarily in technical terms it looks very heavy. Even if this version makes PlayStation lie in passing.
In June 2021 we could discover with great fanfare a certain Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart which was a nice visual slap in the face for PlayStation 5 players. At the time Sony and the game’s creative director Marcus Smith, working at Insomniac Games, had no hesitation in making bombastic statements to praise the merits of the game and the PS5. We remember in particular this shocking sentence which said:
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is a game that uses dimensions and dimensional rifts, which would not have been possible without the blazingly fast SSD of the PlayStation 5.
But today, we can discover the configurations necessary to run the game on PC. And it is clear… that the SSD is totally absent from the obligations. Fun no?
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart PC Setups
Here is the specification table. As for Marvel’s Spider-Man, the studio does not pretend to help the player prepare. We discover the minimum, the recommended, the high setting, Amazin Ray Tracing and even Ultimate Ray Tracing. The SSD is completely absent from the minimum setting as the PS5 did not particularly need its next-gen storage to run the game.
While waiting for the launch on July 26, the development studio makes great promises to us about the technologies embedded in its port. Indeed, we already know that we can take advantage of Nvidia DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2 and Intel XeSS as well as Insomniac Games’ in-house IGTI time injection technology used on the console version. Obviously to enjoy the game in the best conditions, you need something very heavy, namely an RTX 4080 and an Intel i7 12700K processor as well as 32 GB of RAM. It was to be expected.
What is Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart?
For PC gamers who have never touched this title, this is a third-person shooter platformer video game. Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart takes place in a futuristic sci-fi universe. Ratchet and Clank, as in previous episodes of the series are the protagonists. They travel from planet to planet aboard a spaceship. This opus takes as its setting the galaxy of Polaris, having already served as a setting for some previous episodes and in this title there is also a lot of talk about a parallel dimension in a Multiverse way.
