Game Informer has released a new video through his channel Youtube as part of the coverage you are making of Resident Evil 4 Remake, the technical and playable update of the Capcom classic. In this new advance, which features the participation of Hirofumi Nakaoka, artistic director of the remakewe can see a gameplay with several recognizable sections of the original, such as the siege of a village cabin that Leon must resist together with Luis Sera, as well as a moving glimpse of The Brute, a new enemy who wears a cow’s head and wields a huge hammer.

“The background for creating this character was not that we just wanted to add a new character,” Nakaoka explains of the process of implementing the new Cattle. “This character was created later in development. Towards the end of development. So the game was pretty much finished. At that point it was already playable. But as we played the game, we realized that there were some parts where we wanted a different enemy, stronger, tougher, who might wield something like a hammer. It was a conversation with the part of the game where we needed this type of enemy. And that’s where this character came from. We didn’t make a new character because we wanted a new character,” he details.

About the final desEsports Extrasfor The Brutethe artist points out that this new type of Ganado wears a cow’s head as if it were a mask since the development team wanted to add “a bit more of a religious horror motif inspired by the Los Iluminados sect.”

On the slight redesEsports Extrasof Doctor Salvador

“When we learned that Doctor Salvador would return in this remakeWe put a lot of thought into how it looks. Talking with the director, we tried a lot of different things during the desEsports Extrasprocess, how to make it very muscular or very tall. Or give him a really long coat,” he talks about the iconic enemy who uses a chainsaw as a weapon. “We tried a lot of different things with him, but he just didn’t feel right. We replayed the original and took another look at the chainsaw villager, realizing that he’s pretty average. He looks like a normal guy, but he wears a hood on his head and a chainsaw in his hand. If he was very muscular or looked non-human while he was holding the chainsaw, he would be a monster. It’s not scary. When you have someone who looks like they should have intellect, but is wearing a hood and holding a chainsaw, that’s scary.”

“We have kept it, but we have introduced some changes taking advantage of the graphic improvements, such as the details in its clothing or the eyes that peek out from under the hood“, he concludes about the redesign.
