It seems that in the debacle of the last few weeks at Respawn, some of its developers have decided to take flight together and have formed a new studio known as Wildlight Entertainment.
Among those who have left Respawn to help form Wildlight is Chad Grenier, former game director of Apex Legends. Grenier also has a lot of experience with both Titanfall installments, and even worked on the Modern Warfare series before Respawn parted ways with Infinity Ward.
Mohammad Alavi, who was said to be working on a scrapped Titanfall 3 campaign, is also now part of Wildlight after leaving Respawn last year. Wildlight Entertainment’s first game will be a shooter based on a new IP.
They haven’t given us much more information, but from the company website it looks like the Wildlight team is very excited to show what they’ve been working on. “We are a fully funded new entertainment studio hyper-focused on creating big, bold and original game universes of epic quality and scale,” reads a statement on the website.
Although shooters are a saturated market, with the Wildlight team demonstrating immense experience in the genre, we can’t help but be a little impatient to see what they have up their sleeves.
