Rush creators cancel community meeting after receiving real threats
Facepunch the team behind the survival game called Rust canceled plans to attend a community meeting at the upcoming GDC event following actual threats against the team.
In a statement posted on social media this week, Facepunch said it had no choice but to cancel a planned community meeting “due to a real-life threat” that “must be taken seriously.”
“This is not a statement we are pleased to announce,” the company said through a statement posted on Twitter.
“Due to an IRL threat that we must take seriously, we are going to have to cancel the GDC meeting in San Francisco next week. If you’d like to show us portfolios, discuss business, or get feedback on your work, please reach out. “
It’s important to remember the developers are indeed humans. When threats arise we make their safety #1.
We’d love to see what you make!
