Have passed 20 years since the original premiere of the first Sly Cooper, one that marked the premiere of Sucker Punch on PlayStation. Debut in North America a September 23, 2002, although the European market (and therefore the Spanish) would not arrive until January of the following year. This PS2 title also started a new three-dimensional platform license that would later receive three main deliveries continuing (the last one in 2005) and a late fourth one, published ten years after the original and developed by a different studio, Sanzaru Games.
Those responsible for Sucker Punch have wanted celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the saga Sly Cooper in an article published on the official PlayStation blog. In it some anecdotes of the development of the first games are remembered and images of the original versions are shared. There has also been an announcement new collection of merchandise of Sly Cooper that consists of a poster, a t-shirt and a stuffed animal of the protagonist.
The study recalls that, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary celebrations, this month they have been incorporated into the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog all installments of the sagaincluding The Sly Collection (containing the first three games), Sly Cooper: Thieves in Timethe fourth main installment developed by Sanzaru Games, and Bentley’s Hackpacka set of minigames that was launched right at the latter.

The 20th anniversary celebrations come shortly after Sucker Punch herself debunked rumors about a course new game Sly Cooper. The developer settled the speculations that pointed to new deliveries of both this saga and inFamoussince they are working on a single big project that could well be the rumored sequel to Ghost of Tsushima. They also denied that there was another studio working with the Sly Cooper license, as had also been rumored.
