Sons of the Forest Coming to Console?
The survival hit Sons of the Forest has been playable in Early Access since February 23 – but so far only on Steam. So far, PlayStation and Xbox fans have been left in the dark, but there is hope: Because a release of Sons of The Forest for PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S is very likely.
What speaks for a release of Sons of The Forest for PS4, PS5 Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S
Is there already an official statement on this? No, there has not yet been an official statement from the developer studio Endnight Games regarding a console version of Sons of The Forest. But there are two key points that strongly support it.
Point 1) The Forest also came for console
Predecessor The Forest has also made it to the console. This makes it very likely that Sons of the Forest will also open for other systems.
However, The Forest was in the Early Access phase for a full four years before the game was finally released for the PC in April 2018 and then for the PS4 in November 2018.
But don’t worry, Sons of the Forest shouldn’t take that long: Because the sequel should only be in the early access phase for six to eight months. So the console release shouldn’t be as long in coming as with the debut.
We’re expecting one Release for PlayStation and Xbox early/mid 2024 at the earliest.
Point 2) Sons of the Forest is already a mega success
Of course, what also greatly increases the chances of a console launch is the immense success of Sons of the Forest. The survival game sold a whopping two million copies on Steam within 24 hours.
For the Early Access launch, the rush was so great that Steam was down for a while. On the night of its release, Sons of The Forest also had an impressive 719,000 Twitch viewers.
For this reason alone, Endnight Games should not refrain from releasing Sons of The Forest on other systems as well.
