According to insider Tom Henderson, PlayStation Showcase 2023 might not be Sony’s only big event this year.since the company would have reserved important announcements for a future moment.
Although Sony never holds more than one Showcase per year, the idea of a second major PlayStation event this year gains momentum with information shared by Kotaku senior journalist Ethan Gach, who has assured that PlayStation and Nintendo will have additional digital conferences in the next few months.
Despite PlayStation Showcase 2023 showing a significant number of announcements and trailers for new projects on the way, some members of the PlayStation community were left wanting more. The concern arises from the lack of a big Sony event in 2022 and the company’s policy of not holding more than one Showcase per year.
The company’s defense of its Showcase is found in the words of Sony CEO Jim Ryan, who assured that the event demonstrated its “unwavering commitment to offer the best and most varied catalog of video games possible“, investing in the future through “istate-of-the-art, first-class hardwareby investing in innovative, world-class hardware like PlayStation VR2 and the recently announced Project Q.
