Sony increases prices of PlayStation games on Steam in several countries
In recent years, sony has opened the door of its exclusive games to PC systems. It’s been releasing some of PlayStation’s biggest and best-received titles onto the platform. However, the company seems to be making some decisions that are unlikely to go down well with fans.
As recently discovered by a ResetEra user, Sony seems to have quietly increased the prices of several of its titles on Steam in various countries. games like Returnal, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and days gone have seen price increases to varying degrees in various regions, including Argentina, Japan, Canada, Colombia, China, South Korea, and Chile.
Price increases vary from title to title and from country to country. In Argentina, for example, they have increased from a range of 4,199-5,999 pesos to 8,499-9,999 pesos; in Canada, they’ve gone from $59.99-69.99 to $64.99-79.99; while in Japan, they have risen from 4900-6490 yen to 6490-7590 yen (via PlayStation LifeStyle).
Nothing has been officially communicated by Sony yet related to said price increases, so it is currently unknown if the changes will be restricted to Steam or if they will occur in other regions as well.
