Starfield will have the “fewest bugs” of any Bethesda game
After the exhibition of the space title Starfield of Bethesda, From ship customization, combat to procedural worlds and character creation, there’s a lot to look forward to in the game. However, there is a concern as bethesda titles are notorious for launching with major issues. However, according to Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty, Starfield it already has the “fewest bugs of any Bethesda game ever shipped.”
According to statements to Giant Bomb (transcript by VGC), Booty said:
“We have a lot of people playing Starfield internally, working with Todd and the team. I see bug counts, and just by the numbers, if it shipped today Starfield would already have the fewest bugs of any Bethesda game ever shipped. Which is good, but again, the first day experience will always be different.”
As for Bethesda, Booty added:
“The team has matured. They have Fallouts, Skyrims, and Elder Scrolls under their belt. When the acquisition closed, this game had a significantly earlier release date than the date we had first set for Starfield. We sat down with Todd and the team and explained that we wanted to give them time.”
“I think Matt said we have every QA person across our company playing Starfield right now,” Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer said. “Looking at the bug count, looking at the quality of where we are. The good thing about what we showed today, from my perspective, is that that was the game. We’ve been playing the game for quite some time, and that’s the game.”
Starfield launches on September 6 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, with the Premium Edition granting early access on September 1 and the first ever expansion, Shattered Spaceonce it is published.
