Steam opens the summer sales of 2022: how to complete the questline and 8 offers on PC games that I recommend

As planned, Valve has kicked off the Steam summer sale, or “Steam 3000 Summer Sale” as they have decided to baptize this edition. This year, the parents of Portal have opted for an artistic desEsports Extrasthat recovers the aesthetics of American eighties computing, giving the cover of their store an appetizing retro touch. What exactly do we expect from the event? Well, the usual: a barrage of discount pc gamesminigames and new opportunities to feed our user profile with medals.

Steam 3000 Summer Sale Schedule

From June 23 to July 7 at 19:00 CEST (mainland USA time) you will find thousands of games at a reduced price on Steam. You can browse the store by genres, featured franchises, suggested titles, personalized recommendations, and more by logging into the platform; and during that same period you can also progress through Clorthax’s questline—the not-so-shady human-faced AI that stars in the questline linked to the event in question.

game recommendations

Undecided? Nothing happens, it’s normal —the more offers you have at your fingertips, the more difficult it is to choose what to spend the money on. Complementing the suggestions of the Steam algorithm, a humble server would like to ask you some possible purchases based on what I personally suspect you might not be aware of or remember is available to you.

  • The first is “The New Blood FPS Trilogy” (25.09 euros) a compilation of three great boomer shooters such as Ultrakill, Dusk and Amid Evil. If you can only keep one, go for the first head.
  • Black Mesa (3.74 euros) is a remake from the original fan-made Half-Life. It has over 75,000 Steam user reviews with a 95% positive rating, thanks in part to a legendary Xen build.
  • My little big indie recommendation goes to Wolfstride (7.79 euros) that mixes turn-based role-playing and strategy in mech encounters with brutal aesthetics, charm and even imagination.
  • As far back as I can remember, It Takes Two ($15.99) has never been so discounted on Valve’s platform and is easily EA’s loveliest game in the last 20 years.

  • Disco Elysium – The Final Cut (13.99 euros) is not a recommendation, but rather an assignment. One of the most mature, interesting and fresh games of its entire generation.
  • Chivalry 2 (21.59 euros) is newly released on Steam after a year of updates in EGS early access. Not an insane price, but hey, there wasn’t a single game I didn’t have fun playing.
  • Although I hate the artistic section of Slay the Spire (7.13 euros) I must admit that it is a roguelike absurdly good deckbuilding. Perhaps there is no best possible purchase if you like the proposal.
  • Risk of Rain 2 + Survivors of the Void Expansion (19.34 euros) is the same as the previous point, but changing the cards for the action. A game with fantastic music and sense of progression.
