Although we could see him as a guest of honor (and killer robot) at last year’s Devolver Direct, the work of Goichi Suda, better known as Suda51, has been a mystery ever since Grasshopper Manufacture was acquired by NetEase Games.

The creator of the No More Heroes series appeared last night during Grasshopper Direct 2023, which was also the studio’s first online event and a celebration of its 25th anniversary. What we are not so clear about yet is what they are doing, because although he reviews all his previous projects, only in the last seconds of the video (which you have below, and which is quite an experience) is when Suda51 recognizes that what you have on the TV screen is your new game. But no title, no synopsis, nothing.

At least it’s nice to know that the team is still up to something and that they also enjoy that particular sense of humor that comes from their presentation. We’ll keep an eye out for Grasshopper news in the future.
