Big announcement season is finally here. To find your way around and not miss anything, here is a schedule of the Summer Game Fest 2023 conferences with their dates, times and the games confirmed as those expected.

E3 is dead, long live Summer Game Fest. For years, the summer period has been synonymous with big announcements around video games. Historically, the American living room was the scene of events that followed one another for a handful of days. A frantic pace, which meant long sleepless nights for the French players. But with COVID-19 and the democratization of pre-recorded digital conferences, E3 has lost its luster and failed to adapt. His great replacement comes into play: the Summer Game Fest 2023. Big conferences, long-awaited announcements, surprises, the event has become the new annual event. This year is likely to be particularly busy despite fewer conferences on the program. Here is the complete schedule of the SGF.

When is Summer Game Fest 2023?

The pandemic has transformed the video game industry. Where E3 was the annual unmissable event, Geoff Keighley and his Summer Game Fest have taken over by establishing themselves as THE event of the summer. The program promises to be similar to previous editions: new games, conferences from major publishers, world premieres, gameplay, interviews with developers and surprises of all kinds. Such are the promises of this new edition.

If Sony has more or less opened the ball with its PlayStation Showcase, the Summer Game Fest 2023 will begin this year on June 7 with the Guerrilla Showcase which will highlight independent games as well as medium productions. But the real meeting will take place on June 8 with the launch party of the SGF 2023 which once again promises to be rich in announcements and surprises. The festivities will then continue for a full week with several conferences, showcases and presentations of all kinds. They will then continue in a more scattered way during the summer, until Gamescom. The good news is that this year again there will be no need to sleep all night to follow the biggest conferences.

Note that other events may be added over the weeks. We think in particular of Nintendo which should hold a Direct during the summer period. Do not hesitate to return regularly to the article. We will update it as soon as a new Summer Game Fest 2023 conference is confirmed. Note that you have exceptionally added Netflix Tudum to the list. If it is not officially part of the SGF (unlike last year), it should reserve announcements around video game and geek adaptations. It therefore seemed relevant to us to put it on the schedule.

Conferences not to miss and what to expect

The observation is striking: there will be fewer conferences than last year and that is probably not worse. It will avoid the showcases publishers that seem endless with announcements and uninteresting discussions to fill in the gaps. Major players in the industry who won’t be holding their own events will therefore benefit from the aura of the Summer Game Fest conference or perhaps even the Xbox Games Showcase. For those who only wish to watch the essential appointments, here is our selection, with a taste of what to expect.

Summer Game Fest Conference 2023 – June 8 at 9 p.m.

This is THE not-to-be-missed event of the summer: the big Summer Game Fest 2023 conference. surprises looming, this edition promises to be particularly rich in announcements. Among the confirmed headliners: Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty, Mortal Kombat 1 or Alan Wake 2. Square Enix, Sony, Microsoft or even Bandai Namco are just some of the names among many others who will be performing for nearly two hours. Geoff Keighley even promises three or four announcements that should leave players completely speechless. We are wary of his beautiful words now, but it makes you want to believe it anyway. Especially when something around FF7 Rebirth is going on…

Devolver Digital Showcase – June 9 at midnight

If you’re a night owl, then don’t miss the Devolver Digital Showcase, which takes place just a few hours after the Summer Game Fest conference. The independent game publisher should still delight us with a completely offbeat and crazy presentation. Suffice to say that we are already sure that this will be the craziest conference of the lot. Some expected games, including The Plucky Squire, should give their news. Devolver had to keep a few surprises warm. We can already see you dreaming ofHotline Miami 3. What if this year was the right one?

Tribeca Games Spotlight 2023 – June 9 at 7 p.m.

Wholesome Direct 2023 – June 10 at 6 p.m.

A little sweetness in a world of brutes. THE Wholesome Direct, is the not-to-be-missed event for lovers of cute, cute indie games. In total, more than 70 productions full of good vibes will pass before your eyes. Suffice to say that it may go very quickly, but who knows? Maybe your future nugget will be in the lot.

Future Games Show – Summer Game Fest Edition

It’s anything but the biggest conference at Summer Game Fest 2023, but it’s by far the biggest in terms of AA productions and indie games. Like every year, the GamesRadar+ site offers a substantial event to let lesser-known developers speak. We sometimes have the right to a few surprises, games like Life is Strange True Colors or others having given their news during previous editions. For this Future Games Show Summer 2023it is Yuri Lowenthal and Laura Bailey who will be at the presentations, being Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

Xbox & Bethesda Showcase + Starfield

Impossible to miss. The Xbox & Bethesda Showcase returns this summer with a particularly eagerly awaited edition. For two hours, Microsoft will present its future exclusives. We can expect to have release dates for the brand’s next games, including Hellblade 2 and Forza Mortosport, as well as news of announced titles from Xbox Game Studios like Avowed, Fable 4 or Perfect Dark. The Xbox Game Pass should still benefit from a nice highlight and a few third-party publishers should make an appearance. However, the spotlight will be on Bethesda’s next big game. The conference will be followed by the Starfield Direct, which will present the space RPG at length.

PC Gaming Show

PC players will not be sidelined during Summer Game Fest. The PC Gaming Show is back this year, with an even denser edition. More than 55 games will be present, with particularly anticipated titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Dune Awakening or Frostpunk 2. The conference should also hold its own set of surprises.

Ubisoft Forward

This will be the last big conference before Gamescom 2023. Ubisoft is betting big on its annual event. The French publisher is not in top form and it must convince the public with its next productions. Headlining, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, The Crew Motorsport and the newly announced AC Nexus. The conference could nevertheless hold its share of surprises.
