Assassin’s Creed Mirage is a comparatively short pleasure. After about 25 hours you have really seen everything. As with many games, you can simply experience everything again in New Game Plus mode, but that’s not possible – at least not yet. Ubisoft actually consciously decided against the mode, but now things are different, as revealed on X (formerly Twitter). In fact, two new modes were announced.
AC Mirage is getting New Game Plus in December
So now: Contrary to Ubisoft’s original announcement, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is getting a New Game Plus mode after they have “heard you”. NG+ will be part of a free update in December. The exact date for the patch is still pending.
We also don’t know what the New Game Plus mode will look like in detail. With NG+ we can start a new round after playing through the game for the first time, but we keep some of the progress such as unlocked skills or weapons. In Mirage it would be quite conceivable that we would keep all of the unlocked tools and skills. The same could apply to found and upgraded outfits. So that it doesn’t necessarily become easier, this could involve adjustments to the level of difficulty.
In the test video you can find out what AC Mirage does right and why that speaks for a new run:
On top of that, there is a permadeath mode for Mirage
That was not all. In addition, a permadeath mode will be patched into the game, which we can optionally set for all three difficulty levels. If you’re looking for a real challenge, you can play on ‘Hard’, always with the risk that Basim’s death will be final and require a complete restart of the campaign.
What do you think about Ubisoft now bringing NG+ for Mirage? And how do you like the permadeath mode? Will you face this challenge?
