Tymon Smektala, lead designer of Dying Light 2has commented in a recent interview published on Techland’s official Discord channel that the development studio is working on implementing a series of tools of mods for the PC version of the post-apocalyptic open world with zombies and that the idea of bringing the modifications to the console versions is also being considered.
“We are actively working on adding development tools to the PC version of the game, as well as looking for ways to deliver mods created on PC to console gamers. I think the first dying light it is a great reference of what is possible. But again, I don’t want to say anything too soon, but when we’re ready, you’ll find out!” Smektala said.
Smektala Addresses Fan Requests
In the same interview, the creative has commented on other features highly requested by the community: PvP modewhich is absent in the sequel compared to its predecessor, and firearms, which are very scarce in this second part. Regarding the PvP issue, Smektala has commented that Bloody Ties, the great gladiator-themed expansion that will finally arrive on November 10“support single player and cooperative online modes” and that, in fact, the study will focus on “the online aspects of the game” in the future.
On the subject of weapons, Smektala has been much less specific, stating the following: “We understand that this is one of the top 3 requests from our community. And we have stated many times that we want the development of the franchise dying light follow the expectations of our great players. There is nothing more I can say at this time, since I do not want to advance anything“.
