The fiery platformer Nocturnal will arrive in spring

Dear Villages and the developer Sunnyside Games have announced a new platform game called Nocturnal. The title, which will arrive this spring on PC and next-generation consoles, will be an odyssey that combines action and exploration in which players will have to fight against the mist that envelops an ancient island.

According to the press release, the story of the game revolves around Ardeshira young soldier who can use fire powers, when he returns to his home island of Nahran. Upon arriving, he discovers that the island has been engulfed by mist, so he must use his flaming powers to counterattack by igniting the environment, powering up the machinery and burning the dark magic beings.

“With Nocturnal we wanted to combine the immediacy and timelessness of classic platform adventures with a more modern dynamism,” he says. Gabriel Sonderegger, co-founder of Sunnyside Games. “The flames and mist provide players with a perfect balance between feeling weak and downtrodden, with fleeting moments of triumph as they engulf their weapons in fire. We think it adds a unique flow to a classic genre and we hope everyone can play it.” Nocturnal when it launches later this year.”
