The International Olympic Committee announces its esports tournament: Olympic Esports Series 2023
For a long time the esports industry is dreaming of having a true international recognition with the aim that some discipline ends up being part of the Olympic Games, with the aim of International Olympic Committee (IOC) making all kinds of statements (at first against and little by little in favor) about electronic sports.
The last movement in this sense of the IOC has been to continue with a very particular commitment announcing the Olympic Esports Series 2023, the third edition of this international tournament which will take place from June 22 to 25 at the Suntec Center in Singapore.
“The Olympic Movement unites people in a peaceful competition. The Olympic Esports Series 2023 is a continuation of a project with the ambition of create more playing spaces for both players and fans of elite tournaments. We look forward to witnessing the world’s best compete on an international stage as well as together exploring opportunities and shared lessons on health, well-being, training and innovation,” said David Lappartient, one of the IOC’s top officials.
