The Last of Us remake on PS5 is still planned for this year, according to a rumor

Naughty Dog is working on a remake of The Last of Us for PlayStation 5, something that is not yet official but was leaked last year -and there are clues to its existence-. We won’t have to wait long for its release as still planned for this 2022according to the known insider Jeff Grubb.

“I keep hearing it’s coming out this year,” Grubb said on the latest episode of Kinda Funny Gamescast, showing “very confident” to be on time this Christmas. Another source, Tom Henderson, had previously claimed that the project was nearly complete and could be ready by the second half of the year.

When will it be announced? If it really launches in the next few months, the unveiling shouldn’t take long.. What we know about The Last of Us Remake

Bloomberg leaked in 2021 that Visual Arts Service Group began developing its first own game, a remake of the Naughty Dog adventure released in 2013 for PlayStation 3. Apparently some creatives who had participated in the original took more control of the game until the remake was left in the hands of the developer of the saga -which again left VASG again as a support studio-.
