The live-action film of Avatar: The Last Airbender opens in October

Anyone who is a fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender should be prepared for the franchise’s big return to theaters with a live-action movie.

We’ve known for some time that the Avatar franchise was considering a return to the big screen as Avatar Studios announced that there were movie plans in store for Aang. Now, we’ve been given new details about the return, and that includes the movie’s big release date.

Today, Paramount released all-new information about its list of upcoming projects, and Avatar: The Last Airbender was on the list. It was there that the Avatar Studios team confirmed that the animated series will return with a movie starring Aang’s gang as adults.

We also learned that the big movie is coming out on October 10, 2025 so you can mark your calendars.

Right now, there’s little information about the Avatar movie in terms of story, but we do know a bit about its development. Lauren Montgomery is attached to direct the film. Bryan Konietzko and Michael DiMartino, the creators of Avatar, are overseeing the film as executive producers with Eric Coleman.

As for animation, Flying Bark Production announced in October 2022 that it would help bring the film Avatar to life. So, as you can imagine, fans are eager to see what Avatar has in store.
