According to the latest industry rumours, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Tigraphics that would use…
The first rumors arrive about the specifications and performance of the graphics series NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060which for now would be made up of only two models: the GeForce RTX 4060Ti and the GeForce RTX 4060.
That the information on these GPUs has been slow to see the light is quite normal, since it is expected that they will not go on sale until January 2023. These first leaks indicate their possible specifications, graphic consumption, and the performance that we can expect from them.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti would be more powerful than the GeForce RTX 3080
As indicated, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti would use the graphics chip AD104-180. This would offer a total of 6144 CUDA Coresat a frequency around 2,600MHzand would be attached to 10GB of GDDR6 memory @ 17.5 Gbps with power consumption between 270 and 280W. All this together would result in a score around the 8,600 points in the 3DMark Time Spy Extreme benchmarking software, which would put it above the GeForce RTX 3080 itself.
On the other hand we have the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 (not you). This would use another graphics chip, the AD106-300, with access to 3968 CUDA Cores at a frequency around 2,700MHz. This model would use a GDDR6 memory configuration of [email protected] with an energy consumption that would move between 230 – 240W. All this would give a performance in Time Spy Extreme around the 6,000 pointswhich would be about 800 points less compared to the GeForce RTX 3070.
|Rumored performance of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series|
|Model||GPU||CUDA’s||Memory||TGP||Time Spy Extreme|
|RTX 4090||AD102-300||16384||24GB G6X 21Gbps||450W||19,000 points|
|RTX4080||AD103-300||9278||16GB G6X 23Gbps||340W||15,000 points|
|RTX4070||AD104-400||7680||12GB G6X 21Gbps||300W||11,000 points|
|RTX 4060Ti||AD104-180||6144||10GB G6 17.5Gbps||275W||8,600 points|
|RTX 4060||AD106-300||3968||8GB G6 17Gbps||230W||6,000 points|
As can be seen, between each model released there will be a big difference in the number of CUDA cores, so it is logical that in the future we will see a few variants to fill existing performance gaps.
GeForce RTX 4060 series vs GeForce RTX 3060
Regarding the current GeForce RTX 30 series, the number of cores of these two models increases by 26% and 11% respectively, while the memory capacity seems to have changed significantly from previous models. The RTX 4060Ti you get an additional 2 GB of memory, but with lower bandwidth and a trimmed memory interface (160 vs. 256 bits), while the RTX 4060 suffers a reduction of 4 GB of memory and further trims the interface.
The TGP also sees a big boost as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti is rumored to consumes between 70 and 80 watts more than its predecessor, while the RTX 4060 would consume up to 40 watts more than its predecessor. If true, the RTX 4060 will consume more power than an RTX 3070 (220W). At the beginning of June, the well-known leaker @Kopite7kimi revealed that the RTX 4060 would consume more energy than an RTX 3070, so it seems that the rumors will come true
