The original Doom is more brutal than ever: it’s gone roguelike, it lets you carry two miniguns, and you can try it out now
It’s not uncommon to talk about weird ways to run Doom 1993. We’ve already talked about how people have played it on engagement rings, Windows Notepad, and even inside Doom itself. Of course, we do not usually change the way we play it… until now, and that is that the game has become one of the coolest roguelikes that I know
Yes, Hades and Returnal are very, very cool, but can you slay demons in the most over-the-top way in them? Well no, and that’s where Doom Infinite triumph. This new community creation turns the id Software classic into something completely newand its premise has left me speechless.
If the original title seemed too easy for you, don’t worry, because Infinite does not intend to show you mercy. FPS demons will have upgrades that will make them stronger than ever. To defeat them, you will have to search for random upgrades that you will have to mix in each game, while obtaining weapons that will allow your own modifiers to succeed. As you see, everything purest roguelike style.
The zones will also have a new approach, with dynamic weather and random curses, in addition to the typical modification of their levels, which will have slight variations between games. Of course, if you expect very mixed maps, you may not finish connecting with Doom Infinite. Even so, this mod is quite a surprise that can give it a second life to the classic shooter and adds a lot of new mechanics and systems to the experience.
If you feel like trying it, you’re in luck! Doom Infinite has just released its first demo. Of course, when you play, remember that you must be as fast as possible. The more time passes, the more dangerous their levels will beand the closer you will be to dying and starting over.
In 3D PC Games | The most bizarre Doom was an RPG that almost nobody could play, and it has arrived on PC for the first time in more than 15 years
