Five Nights at Freddy’s is just the beginning, according to horror film producer Jason Blum, who revealed in an interview with Discussing Film that he would love to adapt more video games into horror movies. According to Blum, video games are a great source of movie material, as demonstrated in the hit The Super Mario Bros.

More intriguing still, Blum wants to delve into other popular video game franchises to create the next big horror movie. “James [Wan], the director of Insidious, is a great gamer and we have a gaming division in our company that we’ve been working on,” he revealed. “I definitely hope to find more popular games that we can turn into horror movies.”

They also have a movie based on the popular Dead by Daylight game in mind. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Jason Blum and James Wan, two giants of the horror film industry, to further expand the Dead by Daylight universe,” said Stephen Mulrooney, Executive Vice President of Behavior. “At Behavior, our motto is to create unique moments, together, forever. Atomic Monster and Blumhouse are the ideal partners to create Dead by Daylight’s killer entry on the big screen.”
