Abby is without a doubt the most important character left to cast for the second season of The Last of Us. In the game she was played by Laura Bailey, who won several awards for his performance. Unlike her voice actress, however, Abby’s physical appearance is large, muscular, and imposing.

This means it’s highly unlikely that we’ll ever see Bailey in the role again. But according to Craig Mazin, co-creator of the series, those responsible for production were about to hire Abby just before plans had to be halted due to strikes by writers and actors.

It seems that the person they had in mind to play Abby was going to be a bit controversial, as Mazin told The Hollywood Reporter that “We have a pretty good track record of making big casting announcements and people saying ‘really?’ which will probably continue.”

Abby is a controversial character herself, so no matter who the showrunners cast, it’s unlikely all the fans are going to be happy.
