Attention The Sims 4 players! EA is retiring its Origin platform, which you normally use to access your EA game library on PC, towards the end of 2022. The new EA app is designed to offer an optimized user interface that you can use to start your games even faster. What that means for your save data in The Sims 4, we explain to you briefly and compactly.
Step by step to the EA App
How do I switch from Origin to the new app? EA will send out an invite to all Origin users. If you accept the invitation, the EA app will start downloading automatically and Origin will be uninstalled. Alternatively, you can start the download of the EA App yourself on the official homepage.
But beware: This process only applies to Windows. Origin remains for Mac, so there is no need for action on your part. It is unclear whether and when the EA App for Mac will be submitted later.
This process should transfer all games automatically without having to download them again. However, games or files may be lost when switching. To prevent this misery, it is possible to create a backup of the game data.

- Empties the trash

Does this affect my PS/Xbox version? The EA App only affects the PC version. If you own The Sims 4 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S, you don’t have to do anything else.
However, you can link your account to EA here. You should do this for the sole reason that your progress will be saved online in your EA Account. Should your console ever die, your progress will be preserved.
