The Witcher Remake will be a very different game from the original
Currently under construction in the premises of CD Projekt, the remake of The Witcher first of the name has just formalized a major change, very far from the original game.
Before becoming a resolutely cult series with its third episode, the series The Witcher from CD Projekt had the right to two particularly solid games, but which did not explode as much as the third episode. The first of the saga, soberly titled The Witcher, will soon have the right to its remake. On the other hand, the latter should be quite different from the original game.
The Witcher Remake should surprise us
While The Witcher 3 is a rich and ultra generous open world, the first two games were much more linear, the first in particular. The game concentrated its plot in and around a single city, Vizima, partially visitable in The Witcher 3.
But it seems that The Witcher Remake have other plans for the fans.
CD Projekt has indeed claimed in its latest financial statement that the software will be entirely in the open world by selling it as a “narrative single-player open-world RPG, a modern reinterpretation of The Witcher from 2007”.
Surprising news when you have already done the original game, since the latter is normally divided into sectors, and the player is constantly pushed forward by the plot. But this announcement nevertheless promises a much more in-depth adventure and we can already expect all new main and/or secondary quests, as well as hours of additional play. The remake could therefore create a surprise with a very different approach. Now it remains to be seen how CD Projekt intends to pin all this.
We are going to eat some of the witcher
For now it’s good The Witcher 3 which is the center of attention. The game will soon get a second life with its new gen patch for PS5, Xbox Series and PC, and will even have the right to a collection of collector toys.
The Witcher Remake meanwhile, does not yet have a release date, but should mark the great return of the license before the highly anticipated The Witcher 4 comes to shine under unreal engine 5, although it has not yet of publication date either.
In any case, the license still has a bright future ahead of it and should accompany fans for a long time yet.
