The Intel Core 13 Raptor Lake have been with us for a while, as they were launched in October 2022. But a few weeks before, the first high-end motherboards that would debut the new Z790 chipset already appeared. As usual, most users are interested in mid-range or even low-end motherboards, as many are content to get the bare minimum and forget about things like overclocking. That being said, now we can finally know the first motherboard models B760 and H770 corresponding to the mid-range and mid-high from Intelrespectively.
Many times we have said how Intel has the advantage over AMD by offering cheaper motherboards. However, if we choose a Intel Z790 Today we will have to disburse some 230 euros and many of the models sell for 250 or €300 or more. Keep in mind that this is Intel’s highest range currently, although PC users are more attracted to the mid-range, even if they are the B660 of the past generation that are found by €110-120.
Features of the mid-range H770 and B760 chipset
Before starting with the announcement of the new models of Intel H770 and B760 motherboards, what better than to see a comparison between the chipsets, to see what is best for us. Actually if we make a comparison with the last generation, we find hardly any changes. For example, we went from 12 PCIe 4.0 lanes on the H670 to 16 PCIe 4.0 lanes with the H770 and apart from that, everything else is identical. with chipset B760 compared to the last generation B660 we find something similar, because it goes from 6 to 10 PCIe 4.0 lanes.
ASUS announces new Intel B760, H770 and Z790 motherboard models
Taking advantage of the fact that CES 2023 will start at nothing, ASUS announces its new models of B760 and H770 motherboards and even shows some Z790. Starting at the high end, we have two new ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming WiF motherboards.Yo and ROG Strix Z790-H Gaming WiFi. Both bring support for DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 x16, 3 slots to install M.2 SSD and even a Thunderbolt 4 in the front. Now yes, we move to the upper mid-range with new motherboards TUF Gaming H770-PRO Wi-Fi Y H770-Plus D4. Starting with the H770-Pro, we have PCIe 5.0 x16, 4 M.2 SSD slots2.5Gbps Ethernet and Wi-Fi 6.
With the D4, ASUS seeks to appeal to the public interested in saving money with memory DDR4. Now we also have many B760 motherboards, such as the ROG Strix B760-F Gaming WiFi with large plate heatsinks and M.2. As was the case with the H770, we would have the ROG Strix B760-A Gaming WiFi D4 version, designed to offer 3 slots for M.2 PCIe 4.0. Of course, it does not forget motherboards in Mini ITX format, such as the ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi. In this one, we will have two M.2 slotsa PCIe 5.0 slot for the graphics and a huge heatsink for how small the board is.
MSI Reveals Its Latest Intel B760 Motherboards
MSI has presented its latest motherboards corresponding to Intel’s B760 chipset. These are part of the MSI MPG, MAG and PRO ranges, corresponding to different prices and uses. For example, the MSI MAG have a 6 layer copper PCB and 3 M.2 PCIe 4.0 slots. With the PRO Series, we have similar specifications, but they are cheaper and use the connectivity Lightning PCIe Gen 4. Although not many details are given, they do show a motherboard for very compact computers. For this we have the MPG B760i EDGE Wi-Fi DDR4 in Mini ITX format, with 8 phase DrMOS 90 A and an 8-layer copper PCB. It is compatible with Lightning PCIe Gen5 and has 2 M.2 slots.
Esports ExtrasBYTE also shows its B760 motherboards
Now it’s Esports ExtrasBYTE’s turn, which ensures that its new B760 motherboards will be able to reach the performance of a Z790 with 7600 MHz DDR5 RAM. Its top-of-the-range model with B760 chipset will reach up to 16+1+1 phases and it will use a heatsink that will cover the motherboard almost completely. In addition, they will bring technologies such as 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 6E, USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type C And till 3 PCIe 4.0 M.2.
ASRock announces its B760 boards including a special edition of SONIC
Finally, we have the well-known brand ASRock that shows its new B760 motherboards. Among these we highlight the ASRock B760M Steel Legend Wi-Fi in format Micro ATXwhich comes with 12+1+1 Dr.MOS phases and a 6-layer PCB. Bring a PCIe 5.0 slot for GPU, Dragon 2.5G Ethernet Y Wi-Fi 6Enext to a eDP connector. But without a doubt, the one that attracts the most attention is the special edition SONIC motherboard. It’s about the B760M PG SONIC WiFi with a desEsports Extrasof white and purple color and a total of 12+1+1 phases together with 3 slots for M.2 SSD and 4 SATA 3.
