Elden Ring

They finish Elden Ring in less than 6 minutes and the way to do it requires more rhythm than Guitar Hero

Speedrunners continue to struggle to beat ever-tighter times in FromSoftware’s game.

Elden Ring is not exactly a short game, in Esports Extras it took us more than 100 hours finish it for our final analysis and those of you who are still playing it will have already found out that the Middle Lands are huge and full of challenges. But when you are a speedrunner you see the world in another way and the times and the mechanics blur to enter another way of playing.

The latest feat of this dedicated community of players has been to get a mark under 6 minutes, more specifically, 5 minutes and 58 seconds, and as you can imagine, to reach it they have needed to use “unorthodox” mechanics. The secret, as The Gamer has shared, lies in the zip glitch. Obviously, if you haven’t finished the game and don’t want to spoil the whole adventure, stop reading and don’t watch the next video, because contains top level spoilers.

It’s been the speedrunner’seeker‘ who has achieved this impressive mark and the trick he uses to move great distances within the game instantly requires advancing at a specific time while blocking. Seeker must move forward for a specified number of frames.

Many speedrunners are employing a metronomeTo achieve this precision, many speedrunners they’re turning to metronomes, perfecting the timing. As Seeker explains in his video, he uses 107.5 BPM to try and get his ‘zip’ into the fifth beat. A difficult technique to master where its perfect execution means raising the crown for speedrunners, at least until a new way to advance faster is discovered towards the end of the game. The Elden Ring fan community is leaving us with such celebrated feats as Let me solo her, the hero of the game who has not stopped defeating Malenia to help players.
