Former Overwatch professional Félix “xQc” Lengyel was number 1 on Twitch for a long time and is considered one of the biggest streamers in the world. Nevertheless, he was dissatisfied and jealous of his colleagues, as he now admitted.
What is xQc all about? From 2020 to mid-2023, Félix “xQc” Lengyel was by far the most watched streamer on Twitch. However, in June 2023 he signed a million-dollar contract with streaming competitor Kick.
Now he splits his streams between the two platforms, which means his pure Twitch stats aren’t quite as impressive anymore. In a current stream, however, xQc now reveals that he had been annoyed by his colleagues’ deals for years.
xQc says the others have stopped trying
What was xQc upset about? While xQc tried to break his arch-rival Forsen’s Minecraft record, he revealed how unfair he felt his Twitch colleagues’ deals were. So he got his own “sweet deal”, but was “forever angry”.
“I was angry for years because all my colleagues were getting huge amounts of money at the time – […] They all had damn contracts with all the guarantees and they didn’t have to do anything.” Specifically, xQc calls Imane “Pokimane” Anys, the “Queen of Twitch.”
These colleagues had little or no work to be done and “just sat around and didn’t do anything”. In return, they received “fat payouts,” said xQc.
The streamer says: “When Twitch was booming back then, everyone got these deals where they just sat around and didn’t do anything and got huge minimum amounts.” However, the days of fat deals from Twitch and Co. are apparently over.
According to xQc, you could have seen these streamers stop trying.
The shooter streamer Nick “Nickmercs” Kolcheff had a deal like that that xQc was apparently jealous of: with fixed payouts, regardless of performance. However, he was also unhappy with that. He says Twitch kept all the money from his subscriptions:
Top streamer says: If someone donates €500 to him, he’s not happy because Twitch keeps all the money
