PlayStation Stars, the new loyalty program from PlayStation, is now available in Asia. For this reason, Sony has given new details and specific dates of its availability in other regions, including USA and the rest of Europe -October 13-, which will allow you to get virtual prizes and points to redeem in the PlayStation Store.

- North America and South America: October 5 (local time)
- Europe and Australia: October 13 (local time)
PlayStation Stars is free for adult accounts, does not require a subscription, although there are benefits for PS Plus members. Initially the “full experience” will be accessible from iOS and Android phones or the website, but in the future it will be accessible from consoles.
Overcome challenges to get rewards
Once you’ve signed up for PlayStation Stars, you can earn rewards for completing different campaigns and activities. Digital collectibles are faithful digital representations of PlayStation-related items, such as “figurines of iconic characters from games or other forms of entertainment, as well as beloved devices from Sony’s groundbreaking history. There will be new collectibles to earn regularly, ultra-rare collectibles to strive for, or surprises to collect just for fun.” They can be displayed in personal showcases within the PlayStation App, with the option to make it public.
“At launch, just for the sake of joining, all members will receive the Star Gazer telescope. We will have Punto, the gondolier from Ape Escape 2PocketStation, Toro and Kuro celebrating, and much more among the first digital collectibles members can earn or purchase.”
PlayStation Stars has four status levels that reflect milestones achieved, based on the number of rare trophies earned in-game and game purchases on PlayStation Store. “The higher your level, the more perks and rewards you can get,” according to Sony, but this status lasts for the rest of the calendar year plus 13 months. “For example, if you reach level 2 in October, you will keep it for the rest of that calendar year and the following 13 months, from January 1 of the following year to January 31 of the following year.”
