Gamescom is bringing us all kinds of announcements and surprises from large companies, thereby giving rise to the fact that even the next League of Legends projects are having part of their role together with many others that go beyond what is shown in Opening Night Live hosted by Geoff Keighley. In fact, the ones that have been given away from this event are even drawing more attention because they deviate from the norm, being the return of Turok one of the highlights.
And it is that, without prior notice, during Gamescom 2023 it has been announced that Nightdive Studios will launch Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion on various platforms next November, thus bringing back the classic FPS that debuted on Nintendo 64 more than twenty years ago and that can now be played on your maximum qualityeven reaching 4K on some of the platforms it will be available on thanks to the use of Nightdive’s proprietary KEX Engine technology.
This new version of Turok 3 can reach 4K resolution and 120 FPS
To put it in context, it must be said that in Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion we control Josehp and Danielle Firenseed, brothers of the protagonist of the second installment, Joshua Fireseed, who must defeat Oblivion, the main antagonist of this title, and his followers, the Flesh Eaters, after the disappearance of his brother. However, it seems that the plot is the only thing that we will see back without touching in this title, since the announcement of all the improvements it will bring has given us long teeththese being the following:
- Up to 4K 120FPS performance on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
- Advanced rendering features including anti-aliasing, blooming, ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, and motion blur.
- Remastered environmental art.
- Updated character and weapon models.
- Optional motion controls for Nintendo Switch and Gamepad rumble.
- Trophies and achievements in the Steam, PlayStation and Xbox versions.
