As reported by Wire Service Canada, the decision comes as Ubisoft seeks to reorganize “its European business subsidiaries to better prepare them for the future of our rapidly evolving industry with a more agile and efficient approach.”
According to the report, 60 people will lose their jobssince Ubisoft will have three regional centers across the continent: one for Northern Europe, one for Central Europe and one for the South.
As for the Ubisoft development studios in the countries affected by these closures, nothing has been said about how this change will affect them.
Sad day for workers in the industry, when we have also echoed today EA’s decision to lay off more than 750 of its global workers, 6% of its workforce.
