As suspected, Skydance Interactive and the former Uncharted-Author Amy Hennig at today’s showcase her Marvel-Project revealed. Starring the Black Panther and Captain America, the game is yet to be named.
There is a first teaser to see that points to a setting in the world war. More specifically, Paris and Wakanda are brought into play here as a setting. The video first shows Captain America’s legendary shield, while shortly afterwards you can catch a glimpse of the Black Panthers facing each other.
Also featured are Howling Commandos member Gabriel Jones and Wakandan Spy Network leader Nanali. This is followed by the words “King”, “Captain”, “Soldier” and “Spy”, with which the video ends again.
Name & story still unclear
It is unclear why no name has been chosen for the game so that the trailer must initially stand on its own. Unfortunately, neither is revealed about the story, which should be quite exciting with Black Panther and Captain America.
Hennig previously commented on the project, which was still unannounced at the time:
“I can’t think of a better partner than Marvel for our first game,” said Hennig. “The Marvel Universe embodies all the action, mystery and thrill of the pulp adventure genre I love and lends itself perfectly to an interactive experience. It’s an honor to be able to tell an original story with all the humanity, complexity and humor that make Marvel characters so enduring, and to allow our players to embody the heroes they love.”
License holder Marvel added:
“Amy has been setting the bar for narrative adventure games for decades, and we’re excited to be working with Skydance’s talented and experienced New Media team,” said Jay Ong, Executive Vice President & Head, Marvel Games. “Her ambition and vision to create innovative entertainment with the popular Marvel IP was evident from the moment we first met.”
More details about the mysterious project are expected soon from the official side.
