If there is anything that the missions of any Call of Duty is to offer multiple routes to meet our goal. They are usually extremely linear gamesdespite having at times more open areas.
Although this does not mean that they cannot be “broken” in some way to find shortcuts that the programmers did not take into account. A series of tricks to complete a mission in a few seconds anticipating the end in an illogical way. But the most curious thing is how cheats from Quake III: Arena come into play for it.
Take for example this first exploit by user “Also MrTardoos” with Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Beyond the first jump through the car to reach the roof, we see how it takes a short time to use the strafe jumping technique so typical of Quake to gain speed and reach areas where neither the enemy nor our allies are prepared. Although the best comes later, because it uses neither more nor less than the Quake’s rocket jumping technique. Yes, shoot the rocket launcher at the ground to gain momentum with the jump. Then the mission ends.
We have another example in this mission of Call of Duty: World at Waralthough in this case it takes advantage of glitches with certain walls to cross them when reaching areas that could not be reached by the route proposed by the game.
The effect is curious when it comes to an officer to be assassinated, because the game itself then “teleports” the protagonist to another conflict zone.
