Warzone 2.0 records the lowest number of players since its launch
Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 has been fraught with controversy and divided the community for a while, but now it seems the numbers are down a bit or at least on the Steam version of the game.
Call of Duty is one of the biggest gaming franchises, and when Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 came along, they broke records in terms of sales and were extremely successful, with a huge player base.
As reported by CharlieIntel, Warzone 2.0 player count has dropped massively on Steam. If we review the Steam numbers, the title has an all-time high of 491,670. However, in the last 24 hours, the peak stood at just 89,725.
As of this writing, only 89,725 players have been online in the past few minutes. As Reddit user coone90 pointed out, this is “largest decline since premiere” of the game.
With the current player count, Warzone 2.0 does not rank in the top 10 on Steam charts. In the comments section, players explained why they had walked away from the game. UltraEagle7 wrote: “Ranked is almost unplayable due to cheats”while MrRobot759 added: “[Puedes] blame the strict SBMM for sucking the fun out of multiplayer, as well as questionable desEsports Extrasdecisions like the red-dot-less perk system. deathly silence and weak, boring killstreaks.”
Educational_Fig_8459 said: “I’m not surprised, the game is a soulless money grabber.” Hard. Many other players added that they only play on the weekends. It certainly looks like Warzone 2.0 could use an update.
