We already know the Starfield controller from leaks, now we have discovered it ourselves.
A few months ago, images were floating around the web that were supposed to show a special Xbox Series X/S controller with a Starfield look. The desEsports Extraslooked damn cool with its geometric lines and spaceship look, but it also made many people question whether it was just a well-done custom controller.
We can now answer this question with a resounding “No!” answer, because our editor Tobias discovered the controller himself in a Media Markt store in Ingolstadt:

This find is quite a surprise, since the Starfield controller hasn’t even been officially announced yet. Microsoft will most likely only officially unveil the jewel along with the matching headset tomorrow during their big summer showcase.

The question of price and release should also be clarified. If the Xbox controller is already on the shelves in some markets, it will be officially available with the announcement and for 74.99 euros, as the price tag in Media Markt proves. The headset should therefore also be available for purchase after the showcase, i.e. from June 11, 2023.

Technically, the new wireless controller doesn’t seem to differ from the standard products for Xbox, only the desEsports Extrashas changed a bit.
The Starfield influences are kept rather subtle: The controller is white with a red back/inside and is adorned with a thin rainbow stripe. In addition, the controls have additional designations that are reminiscent of a cockpit or a spaceship. He is identified as “property of Constellation,” one of Starfield’s factions.
