Wild Hearts has a new patch to improve performance on PC, but whether it works or not is, let’s say, a lottery
When Wild Hearts was released last month, the PC community shared a common concern: “The game is good, but its performance it’s horrendous”. It has only 47% positive reviews on Steam, and I also warned in the Wild Hearts review for Esports Extras that this worked regularly in the press version. In case this had affected you in any way in your moment, you will be glad to know that Koei Tecmo has released a new patch with optimizations.
“It has improved cpu performanceespecially on AMD processors” read the patch notes of March 27, which also include bug fixes and balance adjustments. Unfortunately, it has not been exemplified what room for improvement can be expected in the program once the update is applied. ; and a humble server is on the Intel side, so I can only recommend testing how high the FPS count goes for you.
Illustratively, the Wild Hearts subreddit is quite divided: some claim that things have improved except for some specific cases and others (unfortunately, the majority) indicate the opposite, that the game now performs even worse than before. “On my PC with an RTX 3070 and a Ryzen 5600 it has less inconsistencies, but when I unlock the FPS it goes crazy and starts going bad again” says user u/sychter in a comment.
“The game performs much worse now on my 9700 […] performance degrades even in the menu, I’m very disappointed” comments u/omegafluxx on the manufacturer side of blue. As I said, it’s a matter of test on your computer; but whatever the result, what is clear is that the Japanese studio still has pending tasks with the PC version of Wild Hearts. It seemed to me a quite enjoyable game, except for the more than obvious technical problems.
